"My wife and I were involved in an accident recently and the insurance company was GEICO insurance. This was not our insurance since the collision was not our fault, so I wasn't sure what to expect.
After spending over 35 years in the auto repair business, I expected this situation to be a difficult one since most insurance companies try to cut repair costs by using used parts or aftermarket parts. However, I contacted Mike Zarem, the manager at Caliber collision who advised me not to worry, and that they would take care of getting my car repaired just like new and would deal with the insurance company on my behalf to make sure the car was repaired with genuine Honda replacement parts.
On the day we had scheduled for me to drop the car off for the repairs, I was greeted by Mike and his service advisor Shaun Strachan. After only a minute or so of looking at the estimate I was given by the insurance company and comparing it to the visable damage they saw on the car, they found some needed repairs that were not on the original estimate.
They both assured me that they would handle any supplemental damages directly with Geico on my behalf.
Shaun then contacted the local Enterprise rent-a-car office and they came and picked up my wife and I. While we waited for the rental car, Mike and Shaun explained how long the repairs should take and gave us an estimated completion time of the repairs. Of course, we understood that sometimes they can be held up on a job because of parts delays and waiting for insurance supplements.
Shaun made a point of contacting us several times during the repairs to keep us informed on the progress of the repairs and verified the completion day and time with us.
On the day we went to pick up the car, we were greeted by Mike and Shaun. Then they went over the paperwork with us completely and explained the repairs in detail.
Wow, I was shocked to learn how much damage was overlooked by the insurance company on their initial estimate, but was relieved that Mike and Shaun handled it like pros. When I saw my car, I could not believe it was the same car I had dropped off a few days earlier! The car looked as beautiful as the day we purchased it! The fit and finish was as good as new. You could not tell the car was ever even involved in a collision that cost over $5800.00!
I highly recommend this shop and the staff for taking such good care of our car. They made a stressful experience stress free!
